What a BCBA Sees on a First Home Visit

What a BCBA Sees on a First Home Visit

Establishing a Baseline and Building Rapport

During the initial home visit, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is not there to judge or critique your parenting style or your home's cleanliness. Instead, their primary focus is to observe the child in their natural environment, identify environmental triggers for specific behaviors, and build rapport with both the child and the family. They pay close attention to how the child interacts with family members, navigates physical spaces, and responds to everyday routines, which helps lay the groundwork for an effective, individualized behavior plan.
